Learn Pool

The channels our members actually recommend, plus what is happening in the sport.

There is an enormous amount of pool instruction online and most of it is repetitive. This page is our shortlist. Each channel below is one that UTMBC members have found genuinely useful, with a note on what it is actually good for, so you can pick the right one for the problem you are having rather than working through a search results page.

If you are brand new, do not start with videos at all. Start with our five beginner drills, bring them to a weekly practice session, and have someone watch your stroke. Video helps most once you know which part of your game is failing.

Channels we recommend

Dr Dave Billiards

Best for: Understanding why a shot failed

The closest thing pool has to a textbook. Dr Dave breaks shots down with high-speed footage and actual physics, so when something is not working you can find out why instead of guessing.

Sharivari

Best for: Quick drills you can do in one session

Short, clear, and drill-heavy. If you only have twenty minutes at a practice session and want one concrete thing to work on, start here.

Zero-X Billiards

Best for: Following a structured training path

Tor Lowry teaches a structured system rather than isolated tips, which suits anyone who wants a progression to follow instead of a pile of unrelated tricks.
